Reloading during a Demand cycle (when the fire is actively burning) will result in more heat and smoke coming from the firebox. Clean Reload is an optional feature of the FireStar controller that can be used to “tell the furnace to idle for a while." This helps to reduce the amount of heat and smoke coming from the firebox when reloading with wood or performing maintenance.
HOW IT WORKS - SUMMARY
Enabling the Clean Reload feature is easy as pressing the “Clean Reload” button onMyFireStar.com prior to loading the furnace. This pauses normal furnace operations and enters a temporary idle state (to give the remaining wood a chance to settle down).
During the 60 minute Clean Reload idle window, a "T-minus 60 countdown" will appear on the MyFireStar.com Dashboard (and on the furnace's FireStar controller display). When the firebox door is opened, less heat and smoke will be encountered. When the furnace is reloaded with wood and the firebox door is shut, the furnace will resume normal operations (even if the full 60 minutes have not elapsed).
