People that study burning know that air control and delivery is imperative for the cleanest, most efficient burn. That’s why the FireStar controller on Classic Edge HDX models has been programmed to precisely deliver the amount of air needed, when it’s needed and where it’s needed.

For the most reliable, consistent and efficient air delivery, we chose components that don’t stick, don’t clog up with creosote, never need maintenance and are simple and inexpensive to operate. Beware the sliding discs, rotary valves and plates that can stick from creosote, making them prone to fail.

Beyond looking really cool, the patented Air Charge Tube directs combustion air into the Fusion Combustor (another really cool part of the furnace) and keeps coals in the firebox from falling down in the Reaction Chamber (yep, one more cool part).

With a very cool-sounding name, turbulators are the easily-installed, easily-removed components in the heat exchanger. They cause turbulence of the exhaust gas flow which forces the heated exhaust to better contact the heat exchanger and transfer more of its energy to the surrounding water jacket.
