Machine Shop Technician

Position Overview:
Machine Shop Technicians are responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of equipment, including press brakes, punch presses, saws, lasers, and mills. This role involves fabricating metal parts used in the production of our state-of-the-art products. Technicians will set up, operate, and monitor machines to ensure precision and quality in all components. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
Must be able to:
- Read work orders, blueprints, production documents or other information to determine specifications
- Set up, load tooling, make necessary adjustments and operate machines
- Identify correct thickness, type, and description of material
- Follow standard procedures for keeping stock and finished work neatly arranged and properly dispose of scrap
- Perform First and Last Article quality inspections based on engineering specifications
- Maintain tool inventory and keep tools clean and orderly
- Organize and stack parts neatly for the next operation
- Troubleshoot, problem solve and elevate any production issues to Leadership
- Perform routine maintenance on the machine
- Perform all tasks with a safety mindset
- Promote and follow all company safety guidelines and initiatives

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED or relevant work experience
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Basic computer navigation and typing skills
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, reporting to work on time and as scheduled
- Promote and follow all company safety guidelines and initiatives
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
- Work efficiently with the ability to prioritize daily workload
- Willingness to learn and help others
- Detail oriented and capable of carrying out a given task with a commitment to quality
- Motivated and flexible to work in any other area of the plant as needed

- Represent the company in a professional friendly manner

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous manufacturing experience helpful
- Degree or certificate from a vocational school and experience with CNC equipment preferred
- Previous Metal fabrication background or knowledge of tools and machinery
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 55 lbs
- Standing, sitting, squatting, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching and reach out to arm’s length and reach overhead
- Work safely around moving equipment, power tools, and industrial vehicles
- Repetitive use of upper extremities
Compensation: starting at $19.39 - $24.26/hour with overtime available. These roles may also be eligible for prior experience, skill, licensure, and/or certification pay differentials that will be in addition to the starting pay rate.
