Sub-Assembly Team Member

Position Overview:

Sub-Assembly Team Members are responsible for putting together parts and kits used in the production of Central Boiler Companies state-of-the-art products while adhering to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. They verify the correct quantities of components/parts and perform a quality check on completed items, manage parts inventory, use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce quality parts and products.

Responsibilities:

Must be able to:

  • Read work orders, blueprints and follow detailed instructions to assemble parts and kits 
  • Collect all material, equipment and tools needed for the work order
  • Assemble kits and parts according to work order details
  • Use handheld tools such as drills, screwdrivers, pliers according to work order requirements 
  • Report on issues, malfunctions, or defective parts
  • Perform quality inspections based on drawings/schematics to ensure highest quality
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment corresponding to departmental housekeeping standards
  • Troubleshoot, problem solve and elevate any production issues to Leaders
  • Promote and follow all company safety guidelines and initiatives
  • Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Group Leader

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • High School diploma, GED or relevant work experience
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer navigation and typing skills 
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, reporting to work on time and as scheduled
  • Promote and follow all company safety guidelines and initiatives
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills 
  • Work efficiently with the ability to prioritize daily workload
  • Willingness to learn and help others
  • Detail oriented and capable of carrying out a given task with a commitment to quality

Physical Requirements: 

  • Able to lift up to 55 lbs 
  • Standing, sitting, squatting, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching and reach out to arm’s length and reach overhead  
  • Work safely around moving equipment, power tools, and industrial vehicles
  • Repetitive use of upper extremities

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous manufacturing experience helpful

Compensation: starting at $19.39 - $24.26/hour with overtime available. These roles may also be eligible for prior experience, skill, licensure, and/or certification pay differentials that will be in addition to the starting pay rate.
