Position Overview:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for both network and system administration. This position understands network topologies and can configure and support equipment necessary for the operation of the corporate network. System responsibilities are generally focused on server administration, enterprise application implementation, and systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and support. To be successful in this role, you need in-depth knowledge in network and system management, infrastructure, and security. You should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot problems, work well under pressure, and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills. 

Responsibilities:

Must be able to:

  • Develop, install, maintain, and monitor computer environments
  • System performance, reliability, and capacity planning
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system issues
  • Research new products and solutions
  • Hardware and software purchases and implementations
  • Maintenance agreements and licensing
  • Account management and system policies
  • Configuration management and compliance
  • Second tier user support
  • Configure, support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software situations pertaining to the 
    network (LAN, WAN & WLAN)
  • Perform repairs and routine maintenance on network hardware and software
  • Provide management and end user support for all network-based applications
  • Assess network security and prevent unauthorized connection attempts
  • Open and follow up on cases with outside technical support
  • Maintain backups per policy

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Minimum/Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Windows Server technologies
  • Proficient with CISCO Firewall and Switch technologies
  • Proficient with server virtualization
  • Associate's degree in computer science or related field or relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Preferred)
  • 2-4 years of experience as an Associate IT Administrator or related role
  • Able to write simple scripts for monitoring and routine maintenance purposes
  • Must be detail-orientated
  • Particularly effective communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications/Selection Criteria: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience with servers, switches and routers, IP phone system, and virtual servers
  • Professional certification, such as CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP

Physical Requirements such as below:

  • Spend most of the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices such as, but not 
    limited to keyboard, mouse and screen, performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, 
    head and other parts of the body.
  • May include standing, sitting, squatting, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching and reaching out to 
    arm’s length, reaching over-head or carrying equipment and materials and occasionally lift up to 55 
    lbs.
