The Story of Central Boiler
In the Beginning
Central Boiler traces its roots back to 1984 in a workshop just south of Greenbush, Minnesota. There, a single idea and some welded pieces of metal would grow into a company that is recognized today as North America's largest manufacturer of outdoor furnaces, and one of the largest manufacturers in northwestern Minnesota. The company's innovations and patents come from people who take a little more time, pay a little more attention and go a little further to make sure that every Central Boiler product is ready to meet the demands of the real world.
Leading with Innovation and Ingenuity
Throughout its history, Central Boiler has consistently been recognized as a leader in the industry and has accumulated an impressive list of significant industry firsts:
- The Classic outdoor wood furnace was the first in the industry to be UL and CSA certified
- The E-Classic outdoor wood furnace was the first to qualify for the EPA Outdoor Wood-fired Hydronic Heaters (OWHH) program
- The Classic Edge was the first hydronic heater to receive a letter of certification from the EPA once new clean burning emission standards went into effect
Innovative Ideas from Innovative Thinking
True to their goal of providing the finest outdoor wood furnaces available anywhere, engineers at Central Boiler have developed the FireStar Combustion Controller with E-Link Technology. These advancements provide a sophisticated method for controlling the outdoor furnace, sharing operational information and for remotely viewing and controlling it. They represent the most technologically-advanced way to heat with wood ever offered by Central Boiler.
Time Tested, Customer Approved
Thousands of these quality heating systems are in use today in a variety of heating applications, in businesses and in homes. Central Boiler outdoor furnaces are available from hundreds of authorized dealers in the United States and Canada. In addition, Central Boiler offers a variety of heating-related products and accessories.
Growing Forward
Central Boiler remains a privately-held corporation. The company's work force continues to grow at the Greenbush facility, always striving to acquire talent that represents the highest level of performance in all areas of production, engineering, sales, marketing and customer service. Several expansion projects to their manufacturing facility have taken place over the years. Since 1991 they have grown from a 25,000 square foot facility to over a 300,000 square foot state of the art manufacturing facility.
